Artist Statement
Inspired by Los Angeles graffiti culture, this work explores identity as system glitch and belonging as a programmed rebellion. Born from the wires of forgotten factories, Bot Boyz is a crew of robots assembled over time from computer error codes. They are benevolent robots who move around the streets and carry magical spray paint that disrupts corrupt tech science. Their ultimate fate is to sacrifice themselves for the survival of humanity. They are here to stop the merger of tech and human and to show humans the gifts they truly carry and undiscovered until now.
