Artist Statement
This piece explores the quiet violence of shaping yourself around expectation instead of truth. The figure bends into a structure that both protects and confines, offering the illusion of transformation. Water pours out as a performance of purity — clear, controlled, and costly to sustain. The tuxedo and basin become symbols of roles that polish the surface while hollowing the interior. The work lands on the truth that self-erasure is the deepest wound, and returning to oneself is both the rupture and the release.
Care
Clean with a soft, dry microfiber cloth. Avoid chemicals and abrasives.
