Artist Statement
Happy, Apparently takes a look at social perception and the performance of wellness. The bandages and goggles introduce a body that has endured something unspoken, standing upright inside its own contradiction. The word Happy becomes both mask and demand, a performance of ease delivered by someone visibly strained. The truth is that forced optimism fractures the self, and honesty arrives only when the sign is lowered.
Care
