Artist Statement
This image began with the simple instinct to pull upward, to see what happens when the body becomes its own tension. Two hands enter the frame as extensions of the self, performing a choreography of control and release. The long strand of hair becomes a fragile line between identity and expectation, stretched to its limit but not broken. The composition turns on the question of who is directing whom, and how easily authorship can shift inside a single body. The truth it lands on is quiet: the one holding the scissors and the one being cut free belong to the same person.
