Artist Statement
No Bras Allowed is a look at body politics and display – how the body is asked to perform even when stripped of choice. The torso stands on a pedestal, part sculpture, part specimen, shaped more by expectation than desire. The small sign reads like a directive, hinting at the rules placed on bodies long before they enter the room. Muscles and shadows reveal a quiet resistance, a human form refusing to be flattened into instruction. The piece holds the question: who gets to decide how a body is seen, and what happens when the gaze becomes law?
